Greece and Azerbaijan Meet Through Culture and Cuisine at the 25th “Food for Good” Festival in Thessaloniki

Azerbaijan was represented at the 25th traditional “Food for Good” International Food Festival, held at Plaza Aretsou in Thessaloniki, Greece, through the “QALA” Greece–Azerbaijan Friendship Association.

The festival was organized for a charitable cause, with all proceeds raised during the event donated to a children’s home in the Filiro area. In this way, the festival brought together different cultures and culinary traditions while also promoting social solidarity and charitable action.

Members of “QALA” presented visitors with a selection of traditional Azerbaijani cuisine. Festival guests had the opportunity to taste plov, dolma, qutab, baklava and other traditional dishes, as well as enjoy traditional Azerbaijani tea.

The Azerbaijani pavilion also provided visitors with information about the country’s history, culture, traditions and tourism potential.

According to representatives of the Association, the main purpose of Azerbaijan’s participation was to promote the country’s rich cultural heritage and national cuisine to an international audience, while strengthening cultural dialogue and friendship between the peoples of Greece and Azerbaijan.

The annual “Food for Good” International Food Festival in Thessaloniki is an important multicultural event, bringing together national cuisines and cultural traditions from more than 40 countries and attracting thousands of visitors each year.

The Azerbaijani pavilion received considerable interest from festival visitors, who had the opportunity not only to discover traditional Azerbaijani flavours but also to learn more about the country’s rich history and cultural heritage.

For the “QALA” Greece–Azerbaijan Friendship Association, participation in the festival represented another important initiative of cultural diplomacy, demonstrating how food and culture can create meaningful connections and build bridges between peoples.
